April received a bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas and a Masters with honors in Counseling from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City.
April is a Licensed Professional Counselor who provides individual and family counseling, focusing on a variety of issues. She loves to work with anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment and communication issues. She is EMDR trained and Gottman Marriage Therapy Level 1 and 2 Trained. April is also a Christian Counselor. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy as well as other approaches to provide quality care. She strives to develop strong therapeutic relationships that draw on the strengths of individuals. She works with pre-adolescents, adolescents and adults.
April is married and has two children. Much of her life included traveling around the world as a military wife. She and her family have lived in Kansas City for five years. She is an avid reader and continues to love to travel.
