Amanda received a Masters degree in Counseling from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City. Before becoming a counselor she was a public school educator, working primarily with upper elementary and middle school students in low socio-economic school districts in Texas.
Amanda is a Licensed Professional Counselor who provides individual and family counseling, focusing on a variety of issues. She has a particular passion to work with grief, divorce, blended families, dealing with chemo brain, depression and anxiety.
Amanda is an Integrative Christian Counselor, finding strength and guidance from the Bible and her faith with evidence-based therapy treatments. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy as well as other approaches to provide quality care. Amanda strives to develop strong therapeutic relationships that draw on the strengths of individuals. She works with children ages 7 and above, teenagers, adults and couples.
Amanda is happily married with four daughters. She has faced her own personal trials with divorce, tragic loss of her only sibling, miscarriage, walking beside her husband through the battle of cancer, the death of her first father-in-law due to cancer and the suicide of her father. She is an avid reader and often misses solving complex math problems and chemical equations from her days of teaching.
